MarsPeg... It ain't what it looks like!

This is probably my craziest combo idea yet. Last summer I picked up an old  Ampeg cab on eBay for $55.00. The cab was an old Super Reverb, model R15-R, that was made in August 1964 according to the serial number on the tube chart. The speaker is a 15" CTS made in the 36th week of 1968 that has probably been played hard, but the sound is warm with earlier breakup than you would expect from a 15". I sat on the cab for a while trying to figure out what to put in it. It was really meant for a clean sound, but I already have a TRRI, old Sunn Sceptre, and my homebrew TDR. I finally came up with the radical idea to put a gritty sounding Marshall 18 watt chassis in it. It is a surprise to hear the Marshall grit coming out of an Ampeg cab!

So, I ordered some parts from Hoffman, Mouser, and TubeDepot.com. I really like this amp, not just for the sound or nostalgic look, but I get a kick outta seeing my buds' reactions! Once again, I'll spare you from the construction details and just give you the eye candy.
